Factors Predicting Health, Wellbeing, and Need for Rehabilitation: A Follow-up Study of 26,000 Finnish People of Working Age
This research project is a follow-up study investigating the health, wellbeing, and need for rehabilitation among the adult population by means of surveys and register data. The participants were selected from the Digital and Population Agency’s population register using random sampling, and the survey was repeated on the same individuals in 1998, 2003, and 2011. In 1998, the 26,000 participants were aged 20–54. The questionnaires widely cover issues such as health and functioning, psychosocial factors, personality factors, life events, work history, use of health services, need for rehabilitation, and received rehabilitation. In 2011, the participants’ spouses and 12,500 randomly selected Finnish people born between 1984 and 1988 were included in the study.
