Indicators of Pharmacotherapy: A Joint Project of Fimea and Kela
The objective of this cooperation project is to produce up-to-date and easy-to-use reporting tools (web applications) on the critical themes and phenomena of rational pharmacotherapy. The project combines statistics and register data on medicines in outpatient and institutional care from several authorities.
The goal of the project is to continue and develop earlier cooperation between Fimea and Kela in producing web applications. The project generates several applications, the first of which examines the use of antimicrobials. It is designed together with MTKA, a national expert group of antimicrobial control. The application on the use of antimicrobials utilises prescription data from Kanta services’ Prescription Centre and Fimea’s wholesale data on medicines in institutional care.
In other applications produced in the project, we use data relevant to the observed phenomenon. The produced web applications are tools for knowledge-based management and open for all users, and the generated data can be used to support decision-making both nationally and regionally. The data products also serve the goal of developing digital tools in the reform of pharmaceutical matters, which is ongoing for several government terms.
