Recipients of disability allowance from Kela and allowances paid out

Recorded as recipients are persons who, during the reference month, received a non-zero regular payment which applies to the reference month. The data on the allowances paid out includes all payments made during the reference period, including both regular payments and amounts recovered or repaid.

Variables and classifications

  • Type of benefit: Disability allowance for persons under the age of 16, Disability allowance for persons aged 16 or over, Care allowance for pensioners
  • Rate of benefit: Basic rate, Middle rate, Highest rate, Grandfathered benefit
  • Reference period: Year, End of year, Month
  • Time: The content presented depends on the selected reference period.
    The default selection is the latest month. In the time series perspective, one or several periods can be selected for a single report.
  • Geographical focus: Whole country, Regions, Municipalities
  • Region: The content presented depends on the selected regional level.
    One or several regions can be selected for a single report. The municipality of residence is recorded as the recipient’s regular municipality of residence at the end of the reference period
  • Sex: Men, Women
  • Age group: The age group is based on the recipient's age at the end of the reference period
  • Main disease category: ICD-10 Classification of Diseases

Updated monthly. Annual data updated in January.

A complete dataset sourced from the processing system for disability allowances, Kela's payments management system and population data maintained by Kela.
