Families With Children (LAPE II)
The aim of this project is to generate research data on the effectiveness of family policies and the position of families with children. LAPE II comprises several sub-projects studying, for example, the effects of family leave reforms, fathers’ use of family leaves and the effects on the subsequent wellbeing of the parents and children, and the impact of family policies on the use of public services, mothers’ employment, and gender wage gap after a child is born. The large register-based research data generated in the project comprise mothers of children born in 1995–2017 as well as their families. The data include register data from Kela and Statistics Finland’s data on employment, taxation, income distribution, and corporations.
