I am a research manager at Kela’s Research Unit. My research has focused on various issues related to family life and the wellbeing of families with children, including perspectives of gender equality and social inequality. In my recent studies, I have examined the use of the family leave, particularly fathers’ participation in the use of the leave, and the effects of children's dual residence on the livelihoods and social security of divorced families.

However, perceptions of what age is appropriate vary according to parents’ education and other family-related factors. Choosing when the child begins early childhood education can be influenced by parents’ attitudes as well as the available options for early childhood education and care, as well as parents’ views on the quality of early childhood education.
