I am a part-time researcher at Kela Research and a coordinator of a research network. My main responsibilities have to do with a research network looking at the effectiveness of occupational healthcare as part of the overall framework of social and health services and at morbidity-related costs in the working-age population. My recent publications have focused on the treatment and rehabilitation of persons applying for disability pension on account of depression.

Development of Kela’s Decision-Making System for Evaluating Incapacity for Work

This project adopts a multi-method approach to examine register data compiled by Kela and the Finnish Centre for Pensions in order to establish the underlying reasons for the increase in the percentage of denied disability pension applications.

Joint Contributions of Psychological Distress and Demanding Working Conditions to Short and Long Sickness Absence Among Young and Early Midlife Municipal Employees

This register-linked follow-up study examined whether psychological distress and demanding working conditions are jointly associated with short and long sickness absence (SA) periods among young and midlife Finnish public sector employees.
